I am growing to be more of a pragmatist as I grow older. I see the world less and less as straight black and white and find even the bible actually is full of what I would call grey or perhaps colorful stories. Stories of justified (or not) mass murder etc done by the seeming good guys without the bible condemning them and this does not even consider the stories where God seemingly orders genecide. Stories where the hero is a prostitute who harbors spies who eventutally bring an army and kill everyone in her city but her and her family.

Setting aside the morally questionable nature of pragmatism as a working philosophy, I would say I agree with your overall view, though with a bit of elaboration. As card carrying members of western civilization we often hold opinions of right and wrong influenced far more by our culture than than by our faith. Even we Christians tend to forget that just as God created us, he also came up with the concept of right and wrong. It boils down to a simple fact: God is the boss of us. He not only gets to say what is right and what is wrong, but also when it is right, and when it is wrong.
